We began over 50 years ago as a small California company named Berkeley Plywood. We used a revolutionary new method for framing a roof on industrial and commercial buildings. Originally named the Berkeley Panelized System, this framing method became the mainstay for large wood roof structures throughout the West Coast.

As time carried on, our name changed from Berkeley Plywood to Strong-Tie Structures to Simpson Structures and finally The Structures Group Southwest, Inc.
